Movie Collector is an advanced tool to catalog DVDs, Blu-Rays, video files and manage your movie collection quickly and easily.
The tool offers two ways to start organizing your movie collection: enter the movie title or scan the barcode on the box. The movie organizer will download movie details (cast, crew, movie plots, episode lists, etc.) and cover art automatically. All movie and TV series data is provided by the Collectorz.com online movie database. This database currently contains over 250 thousand DVD and Blu-Ray editions, for over 180 thousand movies.
The tool offers numerous ways of customization. You can change how the main screen looks like by applying different layout Templates and color Styles. You can configure the List View by choosing the columns to be displayed. You can also create custom views and save these views, so you can activate them whenever you want. Movie Collector also provides many useful tools to manage and edit your film database entries. The many available fields in the Edit Movie screen are grouped into eight tabs for convenient editing of the movie properties.
Now you are ready to browse, sort and search your movie library. Select between Images View displaying cover image thumbnails, List View showing a list of your movies with multiple data columns, or Cover Flow View, a 3D presentation of the front covers of your movies. You can browse your movies as one long list or group them into folders, e.g. by genre, format, director, etc. By simply clicking the column header you can sort your movies on that particular column. There is a possibility to define and save your own multi-field sort orders in the Sort Field Selection screen. The tool provides the following options for searching your database: the Quick Search to search in all fields of your entire database, or the Filter screen to build and save advanced filters. The built-in Loan Manager will track which DVDs you loaned and to whom.
