mp3Tag is a compact and capable ID3 tag editor with functions of a music organizer. It supports a lot of popular formats of tags, such as MP3 tags, WMA tags, WAV tags, FLAC tags, APE tags, OGG Vorbis tags, AAC tags, WavPack tags, MPC/MPP/MP+ tags, and M4a/MP4 tags.
To help managing information about your music files mp3Tag offers you quite a number of tools. You can enter artist, album, title, composer manually, by typing into the corresponding fields. The fields will be updated in all selected files. The MP3 tagger allows you to generate tags from filenames and folder names. It can process thousands audio files at once and write any part of the filename or folder name to any field of the ID3 tag. In case there is no information available mp3Tag will download tags from web services like FreeDB. If you download tags from FreeDB your files should be in their original order and number.
Another important feature of this MP3 tag editor is renaming. It allows you to change names of your music files and create a transparent structure of folders to keep your music collection in order. You can take information from any field in any order and number to rename MP3 and create folder names using your favorite pattern. Your audio files will be sorted to the newly created subfolders automatically.
mp3Tag offers some additional features. It can download lyrics and cover art and save it in the special fields of ID3 tags for storing lyrics and cover art, or as separate files, create playlists for Windows Media Player, Winamp, or other players, show technical parameters of your music.
